Your health and safety are of utmost importance to Camp Buckner. All guests are required to comply with camp safety policies and procedures before and during their stay. The following protocol is required for all individuals while on Camp Buckner property.
General Policies and Procedures
- All group activities and dining table assignments will be organized by group to help prevent the spread of illness from one group to another.
- During your time here, mail service is unavailable to guests. Please plan accordingly.
- Disposal of hazardous materials or sharp medical objects shall be done at the administration office with Camp Buckner personnel present.
- All injuries beyond simple scrapes and bruises should be reported to the Camp Buckner office during the day in which the injury takes place, or as soon as possible.
- Alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, smoking, personal pets, and fireworks are prohibited. Firearms are only permitted if a group has scheduled activities on Camp Buckner’s skeet, trap, or sporting-clay shooting range. Each participant must sign the applicable waiver and follow all listed rules. Firearms must remain locked in the individual’s personal vehicle until the event.
- In accordance with fire marshal codes, all vehicles shall be parked in designated parking areas. After unloading, please do not shuttle around camp unless a person in the group is unable to walk. Notify the director on duty if a vehicle is needed for this purpose.
- Unless specific arrangements have been made before arrival, checkout time for the Lodge, Chateau, and cabins is 11:00 a.m.
- The pool, blob, water slide, kayaks, canoes, paddle boats, ropes course, zipline, archery range, and shooting range are available only at designated times for each group. Areas are off-limits when your group is not scheduled.
- Modest bathing suits are expected for all water activities.
- Fishing in the camp’s stocked pond and lake is available to your group. Guests must provide their own equipment. Camp Buckner operates a catch-and-release program. Swimming is not permitted in the pond or natural bodies of water.
- A $15 fee will be charged for every lost or unreturned Lodge or Chateau room key. The group will be billed the following week for missing keys.
- Due to environmental, facility, and safety issues, water balloons are prohibited on Camp Buckner property. Persons possessing water balloons may be escorted from the property, and the group may be held liable for damages, maintenance, and the full fees for those individuals.
- Camp Buckner may film, photograph, or make video recordings for promotional purposes during the retreat. The group gives Buckner International, doing business as Camp Buckner, permission to use guests’ likenesses, names, and voices in promotional media without further consent or payment, and releases Buckner International and its employees, agents, successors, and assigns from claims arising from that use.
- Camp Buckner staff may enter facilities used by the group to inspect the premises, observe their use, provide maintenance, or for another reasonable purpose.
- The group agrees to pay for damage to Camp Buckner property beyond normal wear caused by its members, including indoor tobacco use requiring prolonged room aeration.
- Groups with minors are encouraged to maintain a ratio of one adult per five children in cabins during the evenings and no fewer than one adult per six children and youth during the day.
- Camp Buckner asks everyone to respect the beauty of the surroundings and not litter. The group may be charged a $500 cleaning and reset fee for excessive littering.
